The code expiration is not the equivalent to an eviction, just the billing of the room.

The emergency sheltering program cannot and will not continue indefinitely.

This is just about the billing of the room. It will no longer be billed to FEMA.

Folks are trying to move on with their lives after a catastrophic disaster, and some are having more difficulty than others in doing that.

Emergency sheltering has to come to an end at some point.

Either purposely or inadvertently, they were abusing the system.

We're taking it on a case-by-case basis. We'll continue to extend the time for those who really need it.

If they did not contact us or allow us to talk with them during our outreach efforts, we believe that they had a reason to do so.
